Turn Touch for Android — Privacy Policy Effective October 16, 2026

Turn Touch for Android connects your Turn Touch Bluetooth remote to actions you configure on your phone or tablet. You do not need a Turn Touch account to use the app.

Information on your device

Remote names, Bluetooth addresses, battery readings, button assignments, and connection settings are stored on your device. Integration credentials are encrypted with an Android Keystore key. Automatic Android backup is disabled. The app keeps recent connection and action diagnostics locally; it does not send them to Turn Touch.

Connections you choose

The app sends commands to the smart-home devices and services you configure. These may include Hue, Nanoleaf, Sonos, Govee, Kasa, WeMo, Bose, IFTTT, and your own HTTP endpoints. Depending on the integration, commands travel over your local network or to a provider's cloud service. Requests may include device identifiers, authentication credentials, action settings, or webhook values you provide. These providers handle requests under their own privacy policies. Some local devices use unencrypted HTTP or local network protocols; use them only on a trusted network.

Web content

Pages you open inside the app connect directly to those websites. They may use cookies and receive your IP address, browser information, and any information you enter. Their privacy policies apply. Turn Touch does not receive your browsing content.

Permissions and media

Nearby-device permissions allow Bluetooth discovery and connection. Android 11 and earlier require location permission for Bluetooth scanning; Turn Touch does not obtain GPS location. A foreground-service notification keeps a paired remote available while the app is in the background. Camera permission is optional and used only for the camera feature. Photos and silent videos you capture are saved to your device's media library, not uploaded by Turn Touch. The app can also adjust media volume and send alarm requests to your selected alarm app.

No advertising or analytics

Turn Touch for Android includes no advertising, analytics, tracking, or automatic crash-reporting SDK. We do not sell your information or receive a copy of your remote configuration, credentials, or captured media.

Your choices

You can remove paired remotes, change integration settings, and revoke permissions in Android Settings. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its saved configuration and credentials. Photos and videos saved to your media library remain until you delete them there. Any data sent to a third-party service is subject to that provider's retention and deletion controls.

Children

This app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Turn Touch does not knowingly collect children's personal information through this Android app.

Changes and contact

This policy applies to Turn Touch for Android version 1.0. We will update the policy if the app's data practices change. For privacy questions, contact samuel@turntouch.com.
